BRUU is proud to have received one of the 2008 Breakthrough Congregation Awards at the UU General Assembly. We put together the following materials for our workshop and our video presented at General Assembly. Please feel free to view and distribute these materials for educational and non-profit uses only.
This two-page workshop handout provides summaries of some of the policies and actions we have taken recently as part of our growth. It is in PDF format for easy printing. Feel free to contact us at the office if you have questions.
You can read the notes on our workshop presentation. It has the rough transcript of both skits presented during the workshop.
We are working through the distribution of our video, which we hope to make available as soon as possible. According to representatives from the UUA, a single DVD containing all four video presentations from 2008 will be distributed to all UU congregations. Additional copies will be available at the UUA and at the district offices. For immediate needs, please contact Star Muir at smuir@gmu.edu.

In case of bad weather, floods, plagues of locusts, etc., the buildings at BRUU might be closed. Events scheduled for the buildings, or in other locations, might be canceled.
If Prince William County schools are closed, then there is a strong possibility that BRUU events will be canceled as well.
It is always our intention at BRUU to have services every Sunday, but it is important for all of us to consider our own safety in regard to travel conditions during inclement weather. The President, in consultation with the chair of the Worship Committee, the minister, and others as appropriate, will make the decision whether to cancel Sunday services no later than 8:00 AM Sunday morning. Ideally, the decision will be distributed by 10:00 PM on Saturday night, so everyone can arrange schedules accordingly.
Information about event cancellation and closing BRUU buildings will be distributed using several means.
The leader for any small group meeting (on any day of the week, including Sunday afternoon) is responsible for determining whether the meeting should be canceled. People planning to attend the meeting should call the point of contact, as listed on the online calendar, to determine whether the meeting will be canceled.
