This year marks the 50th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of the first Earth Day.\u00a0 Larry Underwood and Randy Freed of BRUU\u2019s Green Team will lead a worship service focused on how we can honor UU\u2019s seventh principle,\u00a0Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part<\/i>.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

BRUU became a Green Sanctuary in 2005, and since then, we\u2019ve made some strides in shrinking our environmental footprint as a congregation.\u00a0 Join our Zoom service to hear about our latest steps, and what we can do as households and individuals \u2013 even in a time of social distancing \u2013 to keep Mother Earth healthy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

As part of Sunday\u2019s Earth Day service, we\u2019ll have a short demonstration of how to use a carbon calculator to estimate your individual or household footprint.\u00a0 We\u2019ll be using the calculator offered by terrapass, as they provide a link that allows you to purchase carbon offsets if you want.\u00a0 The calculator is at\u00a0https:\/\/www.terrapass.com\/carbon-footprint-calculator<\/a>.\u00a0 The US Environmental Protection Agency also has an excellent carbon footprint calculator at\u00a0https:\/\/www3.epa.gov\/carbon-footprint-calculator\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n
