Traditionally, scientists have viewed the universe as a giant machine, unfolding according to scientific principles, processes, and procedures, completely mindless and without purpose. How or why such a universe should produce life has remained a mystery.

Recently however some scientists, including some physicists, have concluded that the laws of physics are specifically structured to make life inevitable. They have concluded that the universe is, in fact, biofriendly. Dr. Larry Underwood will discuss evidence that supports this view and some of its important implications.
